Morteza Kazemian, Mohammad Reza Moghiseh, Foad Sadeghi, Mahsa Jazini, Mehdi Motamedipour, Ali Reza Abufazeli and Dr. Mohammad Maleki were released on bail from the Evin Prison yesterday.  Mashallah Shamsolvaezeen, who was released on Sunday from the Evin Prison told Rooz in an interview that he has been held in solitary confinement for the entire duration of his arrest.

Dr. Mohammad Maleki, who was arrested more than six months ago, was released yesterday after 191 days on bail.  Shamsolvaezeen was transferred to the Evin Prison’s medical facility several times due to several physical ailments.

Dr. Maleki is the oldest political prisoner in Iran and suffers from several dangerous heart conditions, including heart artery complications, and must be admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Journalist and political activist Morteza Kazemian was also released yesterday.  He was arrested on 7 Day.

Foad Sadeghi, manager of the website Ayandeh, who was arrested on February 11, was released yesterday on bail.  Mahsa Jazini, reported for the Iran newspaper in Isfahan was also released form the Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan on bail.

Mohammad Reza Maghiseh was also released on bail.  Maghiseh is a journalist and former editor-in-chief of the Bist-Saleha magazine.  He was also a member of the committee to investigate the condition of detainees and individuals injured after the election.  He was arrested about 4 months ago and has been sentenced to six years imprisonment.

These journalists and political prisoners were released while Judge Salavati, who heads branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court, set an 800 million Toman (about 800,000 USD) bail for Morteza Simiari, the social secretary of the Daftar Tahkim Vahdat (Office to Strengthen Unity).

The family of this student activist who visited the Revolutionary Court yesterday told Rooz that Judge Salavati has reduced the bail amount to 600 million Tomans (about 600,000 USD).  The Simiari family is unable to post such a high bail amount.

Simiari, who also serves on Daftar Tahkim Vahdat’s management committee, was arrested on 14 Day and sentenced to 6 years imprisonment following the sham trial held for individuals arrested on Ashoura Day.

Mashallah Shamsolvaezeen, who was released from the Evin Prison on Sunday, told Rooz that he spent his entire time in prison in a solitary cell. He was arrested at midnight about 2 months ago.

Shamsolvaezeen noted that he was charged with “acting against national security,” “insulting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad,” and “engaging in propaganda against the regime,” adding, “I told the gentlemen that I am too insignificant to endanger the national security.  I also said that it was him who was belittling national security to such a level that a journalist like me could endanger it.”
